A trip with humanitarian aid for residents of Borodyanka, Halinky

The first trip was quite difficult in many aspects: a long and strenuous drive, lack of experience. But the hardest part was taking it in emotionally when we got to see the consequences of the war with our own eyes.

When we made it to Borodyanka, we got advice from the locals to set up next to the school. And as we were distributing hot food out there, we learned that no volunteers made it further than Borodyanka. After a discussion and taking into account that we were not the only ones who came with help, we decided to go to the village of Halinky.

All our time and effort weren’t worth even a tiny fraction of those smiles on people's faces; their gratitude was not so much for bringing the necessary things and food, but for simply coming to visit.

This trip changed us, forced us to reconsider our values, and further ignited our desire to continue this work.
