A trip with humanitarian aid to the de-occupied villages of the Sumy region.
When we were finishing one of our trips to Chernihiv Oblast, we received information that there is a humanitarian crisis in the de-occupied territories of Sumy Oblast and people need help. Initially, it was about providing for approximately 800 people in 4-5 villages, but when the contact person was contacted, it turned out that each village has about 800 residents.
Our CF has not yet processed requests of this volume, so we would like to thank all the benefactors who donate, without your help it would be very difficult. It was not possible without the support of our friends. We are grateful for the help of the NGO "Akvarai", the Charity fund "Good Deeds", the Charity fund "Magicna Kraina" and the Sofiivskyi VFTC (Voluntary Formation of Territorial Communities) Battalion.
On September 9, we went to the villages of Grebenikivka and Zhigaylivka. When we were already on the spot and distributed the help, we were a little surprised by the reaction of the people, they were stunned by the fact that the help was distributed to everyone.
After talking with the people and listening to their stories, we would like to briefly tell you about the situation, which probably takes place not only in these two villages. Friends, this needs publicity!
In the first two weeks after de-occupation, assistance was provided to all residents, and then to this day, assistance is provided only to ATO veterans and their families, people with disabilities, and large families. In the villages, these categories of the population make up approximately 15-20%, the rest of the inhabitants do not receive any help from the state. The situation could not be so critical, but there is a problem with the fact that there is no work at all in the region, that is, people simply have nowhere to earn money. Although the state exempted people from paying utility bills for the period of martial law, some people do not use electricity because they are afraid that they will not have the money to pay for it, because sooner or later they will have to pay for it. They use oil lamps!
It is a pity that we did not manage to visit more villages. We really wanted to, but our small transport was already full. Friends, but we don't stop!
Together to victory, because who if not us, and no one but us.
